Introduction

  • Tutor Lim Pty Ltd t/as Tutor Lim is an Australian Business (ABN: 68 183 433 724) operating in Australia. 

  • Throughout this document, ‘We’ and ‘Our’ refers to Tutor Lim, its Staff and Tutors, ‘You’ and ‘Your’ refers to the students/parents either reading this or receiving our services.

  • This agreement outlines the terms and conditions for the services provided to you by our company and for the use of this website.

Our Terms and Conditions

Couple things to bare in mind whilst learning with Tutor Lim 🙌🏻

 
 

Pre-Paid Packages

  • Tuition Hours' purchased through a package are valid for 6-months from the date of purchase. We will always contact you prior to expiring lessons in your account.

  • Pre-paid packages must be paid before the first lesson date. If the invoice has not been settled prior to the first lesson that package is covering, you will be charged the standard hourly rate for that first lesson. Your account is not credited with the package until your invoice has been paid.

 

Tuition Sessions

  • All of our tutors and employees go through recruitment processes such that suspect individuals are not employed. We accept no liability for any grievances that occur in a tuition session. We do however, offer a 100% refund on your initial session if you are not 100% satisfied.

  • If you miss a lesson that has been booked and confirmed, you will forfeit that lesson, and will not be eligible for any refund. If your tutor misses a lesson that has been booked and confirmed, you will be eligible for a full refund of that lesson's fee. Please ensure that you notify us immediately if this happens.

 
 
 

Cancellations

  • We understand that from time to time you're going to have to change lessons with limited notice. Our tutors understand this too, however, they have committed to come and see you which means they are unable to tutor anyone else during this time. To compensate the tutors for this lost opportunity, we charge a small fee (50% of the lesson) in the event that your cancellation or alteration is within 24 hours of the lesson.

  • We will try and waive the fee in extenuating circumstances, however, this is decided on a case by case basis. Where you provide us with more than 24 hours' notice, we do not charge any cancellation or alteration fees.

 

Refunds

  • If after your first lesson, you are not totally satisfied, we will make every attempt to find you an alternative Tutor. If we are unable to find anyone suitable within a reasonable amount of time, we will happily refund any pre-paid lessons you have remaining.

  • Typically, we will not refund for any lessons that have taken place, however, this is decided on a case by case basis.

  • We do not offer any refunds if you choose not to proceed with your tutoring engagement/s.

  • We do not offer any refunds on hourly type engagement/s.

 
 
 

Payment

  • All invoices must be settled by the due date to avoid a 20% late fee.

  • Pre-paid packages must be paid before the first lesson date. If the invoice has not been settled prior to the first lesson that package is covering, you will be charged the standard hourly rate for that first lesson.

  • Cash is not an accepted payment method.

 

Administration & Servicing Fees

  • For any package deal subject change or scheduling cancellation, we charge administration costs and servicing fees .   

    • Administration cost (-10%) 

    • Servicing fee (-5%) 

  • Any unused hours in the current bulk package can be converted into tutoring credits. Read more on our refund policy.

Changes to Terms

  • We reserve the right to change these terms at any time.

  • The current terms and conditions will always be displayed on this website. It is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with these terms.

 
 

 

Frequently Asked Questions

 
 

Can I try just a few sessions to start with?

Yes, you can start by committing only to two sessions. But keep in mind that a reasonable part of the first session revolves around getting to know your tutor, introducing the platform and learning content, and your tutor understanding your needs. The first session is less content intensive than subsequent sessions, hence students should do at least two sessions to start with. Regardless, you are never locked into a long term contract at Tutor Lim and you can choose to have as much or as little tutoring as you desire.

Will I get the same tutor for my sessions?

By default, yes! Once we allocate a tutor for you, he/she will support you throughout the term/semester. If your tutor is on leave or your availability changes, we’ll match you with another suitable tutor and update them on students’ progress. We keep in touch regularly to discuss your tutor preferences, and any potential changes.

Do the tutors tailor the content and personalise it for students?

Yes. During your first Tutor Lim session, your tutor will gauge your level of skills and knowledge and identify any strengths and weaknesses they have. We then customise a personalised learning plan for the student, tailored to his/her areas of need. This plan can be updated after every learning session.

Do you offer a free trial?

We don’t offer free trials, but we offer a Stater Pack discount.
