Introduction

  • Tutor Lim Pty Ltd t/as Tutor Lim is an Australian Business (ABN: 68 183 433 724) operating in Australia. 

  • Throughout this document, ‘We’ and ‘Our’ refer to Tutor Lim, its Staff and Tutors, ‘You’ and ‘Your’ refers to the students/parents either reading this or receiving our services.

  • This agreement outlines the terms and conditions for the services provided to you by our company and for the use of this website.

 


 

Acceptance of Your Booking

  • When you book our services through our website or any other means, your booking is considered an offer to engage our services. We will confirm acceptance in writing, referencing the specific order, before it is considered accepted.
  • Prior to the performance of the services, we reserve the right to decline providing them to you without providing a reason.
  • We may modify our services, either in whole or in part, at any time and for any reason. If you disagree with any changes, you have the option to cancel your order. Failure to cancel your order will be regarded as your acceptance of the updated terms of services.

 

Pre-Paid Packages

  •  "Tuition Hours" purchased through a package are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase. We will always contact you before the expiration of lessons in your account.

  • Pre-paid packages must be paid before the first lesson date. If the invoice has not been settled prior to the first lesson covered by the package, you will be charged the standard hourly rate for that first lesson. Your account will be credited with the package only after your invoice has been paid.

 

Tuition Sessions

  • All of our tutors and employees go through a thorough recruitment process to ensure that only qualified individuals are employed. We accept no liability for any grievances that occur during a tuition session. However, if you are not satisfied with your initial session, we offer the option of providing a replacement tutor to better meet your needs.

  • If you miss a lesson that has been booked and confirmed, you will forfeit that lesson and will not be eligible for any compensation. However, if your tutor misses a lesson that has been booked and confirmed, a replacement class will be arranged for you. Please notify us immediately in such cases so that we can promptly address the issue.

 

 

Cancellations

  • We understand that from time to time you may need to change lessons with limited notice. Our tutors understand this too. However, when a tutor commits to a lesson with you, they are unable to tutor anyone else during that time. To compensate the tutors for this lost opportunity, we charge a small fee (50% of the lesson) if your cancellation or alteration is within 24 hours of the lesson.
  • We will try to waive the fee in extenuating circumstances, but this is decided on a case-by-case basis. If you provide us with more than 24 hours' notice, we do not charge any cancellation or alteration fees.

 

Refunds

  • If after your first lesson, you are not totally satisfied, we will make every attempt to find you an alternative Tutor. If we are unable to find anyone suitable within a reasonable amount of time, we will happily refund any pre-paid lessons you have remaining.
  • We do not offer refunds for lessons that have already taken place.
  • We do not offer any refunds if you choose not to proceed or to terminate your tutoring engagement/s with Tutor Lim.
  • We do not offer any refunds on hourly type engagement/s.
  • In the event of a cancellation, we will not be obligated to refund pre-paid credits.

 

Payment

  • All invoices must be settled by the due date to avoid a 20% late fee.
  • Pre-paid packages must be paid before the first lesson date. If the invoice has not been settled prior to the first lesson that package is covering, you will be charged the standard hourly rate for that first lesson.
  • Cash is not an accepted payment method.

 

Administration & Servicing Fees

  • For any package deal subject to change or schedule cancellation, we charge administration costs and servicing fees.

  • Any unused hours in the current bulk package can be converted into tutoring credits. Read more on our refund policy.

Changes to Terms 

  • We reserve the right to change these terms at any time. The current terms and conditions will always be displayed on this website. It is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with these terms.

 


 

Frequently Asked Questions

 

Can I try just a few sessions to start with?

Yes, you can start by committing only to two sessions. But keep in mind that a reasonable part of the first session revolves around getting to know your tutor, introducing the platform and learning content, and your tutor understanding your needs. The first session is less content-intensive than subsequent sessions, hence students should do at least two sessions to start with. Regardless, you are never locked into a long term contract at Tutor Lim and you can choose to have as much or as little tutoring as you desire.

 

Do the tutors tailor the content and personalise it for students?

Yes. During your first Tutor Lim session, your tutor will gauge your level of skills and knowledge and identify any strengths and weaknesses you have. We then customise a personalised learning plan for the student, tailored to his/her areas of need. This plan can be updated after every learning session.

 

Do you offer a free trial? 

We don’t offer free trials, but we offer a Stater Pack discount.
